Cell Factor: Psychokinetic Wars Review

In Short A Multiplayer based XBLA shooter inspired by the Unreal games Cell Factor (I'm not typing the full name) was originally a tech demo for the PC. But it would evolve into a "free" full game with some levels of success. Now the game has been ported to the 360 arcade but it comes with a price, 800 points to be exact. But is it worth the price or should you save your points for a nice jacket for your avatar on august 11th.

Cell Factor is a first person shooter with the multiplayer as the main focus of the game. Now considering that most XBLA games are 2d and/or side scrollers, it's nice to see a new first person shooter popping up. And with graphics which would look good on an xbox, it's a very rare batch of games we would love to have on XBLA. Plus with xbox graphics and taking up only 300MB, it won't take up much space no matter what HD you have. Although there are times when the frame rate drops, this usually happens when you have 8+ players in a game and when your in a fight, it can effect how the battle goes. But it doesn't happen enough to ruin the game. Even with the pretty graphics the more I played the game the more I kept thinking I've played this before. Only when I started up the game a few days later did I remember.
It seems they took the design and the multiplayer voice of Unreal 3 and thrown it into the game. Except more simplified, the maps have less detail and the MP voice is less enthusiastic. The guns are nothing original, you have a sniper, pistol, assault rifle, rocket launcher, shot gun and while you get powers in the game. The task are very easy and can complete all 3 in over an hour. All of the gameplay in Cell Factor has been done before.

but even so it doesn't take anything away from the fun. The maps are good symmetrical maps that are easy to navigate. The guns are balanced enough that even if you just have a pistol you can still put up a fight. Each Faction has it's own unique power to give you an advantage. You have a choice between 3 factions, Bishop, Guardian, Black Op. The Bishop is more focused on your powers so you can throw objects, fly and create a shield. Guardian is more on weaponry, you always have 2 guns instead of one and you can super jump and headbutt players to death. While the Black op's are a bit of both, you can throw objects (but with less force) and you can shoot weapons and teleport. Each faction has it's own strength and weaknesses to make the gameplay even. Although playing a bishop or guardian is much more fun and satisfying than the black ops.

Being able to shoot two snipers at the same, only to ram the guy when he gets close is addictive and satisfying. And it's the same with the bishop, holding RB to charge your shot while your unsuspecting victim walks across the bridge, only to be launched into the sky by the boulder you just launched at him at mach 10 speed. While the game play is fun and addictive, there aren't enough maps and game types to keep you hooked. Just Slayer, Team Slayer, CTF and Hacker will be fun but not for very long. Even the customizable armor will wear out your interest eventually. Even so I don't see this as a game you will play every day, this will be more of a fall back game. A game you play when your bored or frustrated with another game.

Overall CellFactor has nothing original and in some areas it completely copies Unreal 3. But it never stops it from being fun, and at the end of the day thats the most important thing. It's fun and you will play it for some time.....just not on a consistent basis.

Should you buy it? Highly Recommend- if you enjoy first person shooters
Rating 8/10 Fun and addictive, worth a buy.

P.S Dare you to read the game title then, turn off your PC screen and then try to write down the title off the top of your head

lost on Delta Synopsis

I have been thinking of this idea for a while, so I've decided to stop thinking and try to make it (or at least the first episode). now it isnt made yet but considering that first impressions are very important and considering that many people would say that (hey this has been done before you, come up with your own ideas), i think that this story has alot of depth to it. Of course you won't get all the details otherwise their isn't much point in watching them is it? This machinima series is a serious comedy. sort of the setting is serious but the characters or funny.

Also I've tried to keep the story within the halo universe. Thats why the humans are ODST, not spartans. And the Elites colour is defined by rank (minor-blue, major-red, zealot-orane etc). on top of that ive created the characters back story from events from the game/novels, while at the same time creating more to the halo universe. So you could say that im creating my own world in the halo universe.

Its called the Forgotten (and i know other machinima series have been the word forgotten in their title but read the plot then try to come up with something better.....I mean it, if you have a suggestion then post please)

After stopping Delta halo (installation 05) from firing, miranda keyes, and johnson quickly left the ring world back to earth along with the arbiter to stop the covenant from opening the portal. When they realised that they could not waste time trying to find all of the soldiers on delta halo, so they gathered everyone they could find and went back to earth. After they left the elites  burned most of glassed 70% of the ring world, they would have glassed the entire ring, but they discovered that a covenant carrier left high charity and headed straight for earth (as you saw in halo 3) so to stop the flood from spreading the planet the elites headed for earth.  Which left all surviving Elites and Human on the ringworld with no escape and with a potential flood as well.

Before both UNSC and Elites left for earth, they sent a message beacon covering 50,000,000 miles. Both sent the same massage not to attack any elites, do not attack unless the elites shoot you first .  the elites lost communication first, two weeks before the humans. the last communication from the covenant was to hold base and focus on the flood (but they never mentioned the humans). When the covenant scorched most of delta halo the surviving elites and humans flee to any safe unscaved area. this has led to alot elites and humans into the same area which consequently led many battles throughout delta halo (mostly because they never had any communication devices to hear the transmission).

When the ring world was glassed, 5 elites and 3 spartans took refuge in a forerunner building neat a cliff edge (avalanche), sometimes they would go out on scouting missions to retrieve weapons and vehicles. They could'nt go very far as they were trapped on a cliff and was risj of being captured by the flood if they traveled down the cliff.

The first episode should be up in 2 weeks. Hopefully
